Manual

We have prepared a number of flash training videos, which can help you with the features setup in administration. We believe that these videos will help you to get to know the FastCentrik e-commerce solution better. We have divided the videos into several categories for easy orientation.

This manual was created for our customers, FastCentrik users, in order to help them and to provide support with shop administration. The manual is also suitable for printing (PDF format). We update the manual on a regular basis and send information to our customers in the form of a Newsletter.

Manual for downloading

The newest manual version could always be found on www.fastcentrik.com/manual. Every manual version will be numbered and dated. We recommend using the newest version of the manual. FastCentrik is regularly updated and enriched with new features and using the older version of our manual can cause some discrepancy. If you find any inaccuracy in the manual, please let us know about it by e-mail at fastcentrik@gmail.com so we can properly correct it in the next version.

Graphic layout

Your company logo, banner, graphic collage - heading without limitations

Shop with its own designDiscover how  just a few clicks in administration can transform your shop to any graphic layout you wish. Just prepare your company logo, graphical collage and even banner for the heading of your shop. You are able to set the position of some parts directly and you can move the parts and set their ideal location. There is nothing easier than to set up your new design in a few minutes whenever you want. You can prepare your graphical layout yourself or we can create a custom-made design for you.

Setting up an infinite number of color variations

Coloured scheme Administration allows you to manage any color scheme you wish. You can set up all the colors of the text and backgrounds so that you can easily synchronise colors and backgrounds of the heading and body of your shop. You can choose from several predefined graphical templates, all adjustable. You can upload your own templates as well. All changes are shown in real time preview with your data. When you are satisfied with the result, changes are applied to your shop. 

Working with the Image manager

Work with image manager Image manager allows you to create a directory structure on the web server and upload your images, banners, flash, videos. You can delete, remove them etc., you are free to add them to the articles, products or to the modules that influence the design of the shop. Image Manager meets the highest expectations - for example, it even allows uploading and removing all images at once.

Category management

CategoriesHave a look at how to create and delete main categories and subcategories. You can create an unlimited number of  (sub)categories and adjust them according to the customers needs. Managing Categories has never been easier than now. You will find that created categories can be automatically published at predetermined times and lots of attributes - images, description, SEO tags - can be assigned to them.


New product

New product creationWe will demostrate how to create a new product in administration. You will find that related, alternative products and images can be added to the new product, and complete with other data, which can be optionally filled in, enables the product to be described in detail. We will show that hypertext links (manuals, technical documentation, www links, atc.) can be added to the product.


Technical product parameters

Technical parametres creationYou will learn what product parameters mean. Using them allows you to effectively offer the product in a way that customers immediately recognise the variablity of the product. You are able to set each product property (height, hardness, usage, color, viscosity etc.) in administration. Parameters are shown in the product page. They are very often used by customers when searching the products or comparing among many other products. You are free to create an unlimited number of product parameters.

 Technical parametres definition in the categoriesIn the video manual above you have learnt how to create technical parametres for each product. There is an easier way how to do it for all the products in the category. You can create Parameter Templates, which are assigned to the category with the products. Then you can easily add parameter values to each product. Soon you will find out that setting parameters and their values is not difficult work but a pleasant activity to have your products in good order. 

How to work with the producers (brands) in the administration.

Producers (brands) definitionWe will show you how to add producers to the shop. You will find out that you can assign the Company Name, First and Last Name and other contact information of the Producer. Using Image manager  you can insert the producer's logo and modify the producer's description in HTML editor. Customers can sort products according to Producer Names. Fastcentrik allows two types of sorting. It's up to you which type you choose.

Here you will learn how to work with WYSIWYG editor. WYSIWYG editorWYSIWYG editor is used in the shop administration for creating aticles and product description. Working with WYSIWYG editor is no different from working with editors such as MS Word. It is possible to create text, use differnet fonts, insert pictures, create links to files or web sites, insert and adjust tables, use Drag & Drop in our editor. And on top of that, it is all very simple.

Users administration and access settings

The administration rights settings  You can create access to administration for unlimited number of users. Each user can easily be assigned different rights related to modules (e.g. articles, mass mailing, product editing, categories) and operations related to modules (reading, writing - editing, adding, deleting). Thanks to this it is possible to allow e.g. part-time workers only certain rights so they will be able to carry out limited operations.

Textual advertising 

Marketing tools - textual advertisingTextual advertising could be an option for you representing an additional form of income or mutual advertising in cooperation with "friendly pages". You can use textual advertising for e.g. recruiting new employees. Each item (advert, line) can be linked  to any URL address. You will learn where to set the textual advertisement, where it is displayed and that you can limit the displaying time. You can also choose the sequence in which the ads are to be displayed. 

E-mails

E-mail administration on an e-mail server using the web-based interface 

 E-mails administrationE-mail administration is a part of our FastCentrik hosting services. Let's see how we can work with a mail server. You can easily set up an unlimited number of mailbox users and assign them with different rights (read, write, read and write, change, etc.). It is also possible to create a Group or a mailing list in the administration in order to allow the users included in a particular list or group to send e-mails using one common e-mail address. 

How to work with a webmail client - writing, receiving and sending e-mails 

Writing, receiving and sending e-mailsFastCentrik licence fee includes webmail client, which allows you to access your mail from any computer with internet connection. We have shown you how to set up users and their rights in Mail Server in the previous video. Now let¨s see, how to work with a webmail client. A webmail client allows you to access your mail, calendar, contacts, files and shared files from any computer with a web browser and internet connection.

Regular export feeds to third-party shopping marketplaces without registration

Third party shopping marketplaces (product comparison and product search websites) such as Google Products are specialized portals which acquire data from internet shops and offer to comfortably and quickly find products throughout all registered shops.

The biggest advantage of the above-mentioned portals is that you can start promoting your store immediately after its start-up, compared to SEO (Search Engine Optimization) which brings results only after a longer period of time.

What do you do if you want your data to be exported into third party shopping marketplaces? You just need to register your shop and let us prepare an application that provides new and fresh data from your shop (so-called data feeds). Thanks to FastCentrik you can send your data to all important product search and comparison websites. These websites generate up to 50 % of income for some shop providers and their significance is increasing fast.

The service described above does not include manual registration or verification of correct data display. It only includes a software module initiation for XML data export.

Creation of shop color schemes in accordance with logo, banner and collage design

The service includes the creation of a color scheme design for the shop that corresponds with the rest of the graphic elements in the header.

We also create the color template in the shop administration as a part of our service so that the customer doesn't have to be bothered with it.

This service includes the creation of the shop header also referred to as a collage which combines several graphic components (pictures, photos, text, symbols, etc.).

The collage is composed and delivered to the customer in a standard size suitable for usage in the FastCentrik shopping cart system. Customers also receive the collage in a high resolution for usage in printing materials.

This service includes the creation of a flash banner (square or rectangular advertisement) according to the customer's individual size and design requirements.

Creation of graphic logos - jpg or gif + vectors

This service includes creation of a textual logo in .gif, .jpg formats and also in vector graphics, which allows resizing with no quality loss. Subsequently you can use the logo for the company's printed material, etc.

Creation of an exchange icon

This service includes the creation of an exchange icon in a common format used by shop and web providers for mutual exchange. The icon can also be animated.

Creation of a bookmark icon - Favicon.ico

Favicon is an icon displayed by web browsers on the left side of a www address (see picture below).

Have a look at the address bar in your web browser, where you can see www.FastCentrik.com. You can see a small orange icon with ND (NetDirect) symbol on the left side of the address. We can create a similar icon for you as well. Today the favicon usage is a standard and websites with no favicon are considered unprofessional. An individual icon is also convenient as it is displayed not only in the address bar, but also in the bookmarks of their web browsers and in the "favorites" list. Thanks to a unique icon your web will be much more distinguishable by your customers and visitors. The standard favicon size is 32 x 32 pixels.

The service described above includes creation of favicon that corresponds with your logo or offered products. 

Manual registration of a site to internet catalogues

Backlinks are incoming links which lead to your shop from a variety of websites, catalogues,  discussion forums, blogs, etc. Generally, the more you build, the better your customer base. Backlinks have two main effects. First people click on them which mean new visitors on your shop. Secondly, they are very important for the SEO optimalization (Search Engine Optimalization). Link building is obviously quite time consuming. Nevertheless, the good news is that you can use us or any other company to do this for you. Beware, some companies use software robots for the link building. This may result in search engines penalizing your online store and you will not be able to maintain a high position in seach results lists.

Registration of .COM domains (act of registration)

A domain is a web address which you insert into the address bar in order to find and visit a web page (e.g. www.FastCentrik.com). Owning a domain is necessary for shop operation. If you do not own a domain yet, you can register it or you can entrust us with this task.

Today many domains are already registered and it could be impossible to register the domain of your choice as somebody else has already done it before you. Also it is important to settle your domain fees every year. If you do not settle the payments in time, the domain will become available to others. Nonetheless, the domain provider is obliged to send you an e-mail to inform you about an incoming payment term in advance so you don't have to worry about losing your domain without any notice. 

The service we offer includes consultancy on how to verify the actual availability of the domains you have suggested. Once you discover a free domain, you can leave the rest to us. We will register the domain for you. As you will be the owner of that domain, you can use it in the future, even for a different shop if, by any chance, you are not completely satisfied with FastCentrik shopping cart solution. The invoice for a yearly domain operation settlement will be sent to you by the e-mail you provide during the registration. The domain becomes your property immediately after you settle the first payment.
