Flash
The advantage of Flash technology is the relatively small file size as it works with what are known as "vector graphics". Flash was at first used mainly for banner creation due to its capabilities which far exceeded the capabilities of animated GIFs. Gradually, Flash began to be used to create interactive web presentations, games, calculators, guides, etc.
Currently, Flash has progressed to the degree that it cannot only display animated images, but it can also play sound and can be connected to data sources, allowing ad-hoc data loading, for example, to flash banners, flash graphs, etc.
It can, however, be overused when, for example, web creators make an entire web presentation based on flash technology. This generally results in slow page loading on slow connections and difficult search engine optimalization (SEO) for browsers.
